On July 01, 2026, the Africa International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AICCI) announced the appointment of Sheikh Ahsan Tariq as a member of its Global Board. A technology entrepreneur, supply chain strategist, and artificial intelligence innovator, Sheikh Ahsan Tariq brings extensive experience in digital logistics, supply chain optimization, venture creation, and commercialization. His background will support AICCI’s mission to strengthen international trade and investment between Africa and global markets.
Sheikh Ahsan Tariq is known for building and scaling high-impact technology and logistics ventures. As the founder and former CEO of Cubex Global, he developed a digital marketplace for the ocean freight sector. By connecting shippers with freight forwarders through real-time bidding, integrated tracking, and automated documentation, the platform optimized container space and reduced maritime greenhouse gas emissions. This work earned international recognition, including the ASYAD Global Logistics Award, the Ocean Innovation Award, and a feature in UNCTAD’s Review of Maritime Transport 2020 publication.
Currently serving as Partner and Head of Operations, Supply Chain and Commercialisation at Kannaplan (www.kannaplan.com), Ahsan oversees compliant facility operations, pharmaceutical cold-chain export logistics into European markets, facility automation, and commercial brand growth. His emphasis on operational efficiency aligns directly with AICCI’s focus on modernizing trade routes and expanding cross-border commercial activity.
In his role on the Global Board, Sheikh Ahsan Tariq will support AICCI’s strategic initiatives in digital transformation, trade logistics, and cross-border commercial development. His experience building companies from the ground up, including Entrepreneur in Residence roles at Antler in Dubai and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), demonstrates his ability to scale platforms across borders. This experience will assist AICCI in building stronger multi-regional partnerships and streamlining logistics corridors for African businesses.
Technological innovation and international community building remain central to Ahsan’s work. He holds a granted patent in artificial intelligence focused on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and dynamic token-based retrieval systems. Applied to complex operational environments, his tech work connects hardware, software, and automated workflows to reduce inefficiency and improve operating margins.
His involvement in the international business community includes work with the World Economic Forum, where he serves on the MENA Steering Committee and previously served as a Global Shaper. Ahsan also supports regional startup ecosystems as a mentor and country ambassador for platforms such as Seedstars and AngelHack, alongside his work as an angel investor
Ahsan’s professional background covers technology, commercial strategy, international logistics, and regulated operations. Earlier in his career, he led digital and brand strategy for major multinational consumer accounts and global media campaigns.
